Gagging!

My nearly 10month old some will not eat ANYTHING thats not puree without gagging! Even if the mashed potato has a tiny lump he'll gag. Is there anyway i can teach him to chew?

Try letting him chew on rusks or bread crusts just to practise the chewing action...

Does he have many teeth yet?

He has 2teeth and abput 5 very close to coming but he chews on rusks and breaksticks and even biscuits fine but as soon as something on a spoon comes his way he just wants to swallow it all down without chewing!

Bummer, sorry i dont know any other solutions except that maybe he's not quite ready?

Hey Steph,
Maybe try hand feeding him...i find peter does the same at times, but if i hand feed him, he assumes it's something im eating and therefore is keen to gobble it up. I'm not sure if it will help, but you could try!
