Hi Girls...and others.
Question: The pain is excruciating to the point where the toddler passes in and out of consciousness. The pain lasted for about 15 minutes in total. It deserved a ride in the big fun ambulance. The toddler woke screaming in agony....."hurting!" and pointing to the groin. DH found a lump 2" long by about 1" high.Hard lump. Since, DS has been flipping catwheels, normal as Larry. (Whoever he is...). being a Sat night the hospital suggest if you hang around the ward too long you might catch something. Tomorrow we shall try our GP.
So is it a hydroclele or hernia?
Takers????

I would say a hernia as they are fairly common in little men especially in the groin area. They tend to be rather painful also.

Poor little bugger & poor mummy for having to cope with an ambulance trip !

Hopefully tonite he can sleep a little we all know you wont ! Lots of positive vibes being sent your way :hugs:

Oh dear - sounds painful indeed, and a not entirely enjoyable episode for the parents.

I had a hernia as a kid - very unusual in a girl - an inguinal hernia, so around the groin area. Didn't hurt at all, but I think that depends on what it is that is "poking through the opening" so to speak, so I believe they can be painful.

Healing vibes coming your way flower.

Thanks Bron: so far we're diagnosing strangulated hernia. Got to follow up now with Ultrasound then Pedeatrician appointment.
Lets see how it pans out. Hopefully no more excruciating episodes...and pref not surgery.
Thanks as always girls.

Normally if its a strangulated hernia than you need surgery, PRONTO!!!

Its very dangerous...

I really dont think hydrocele, (jack has both) because a hydrocele is excess fluid around the testes...

Which just makes them look like Big balls (oo's)

Hernias are normally hard and a lump if not a lump on the outside...

:fingerscrossed: its not as bad as it sounds, iv heard they are really painfull, although i help this helps Loch had a hernia fixed and they said that it was alot longer than normal ones and that it would be hard for him to walk and stuff for days but he walked out of the hospital in a tiny bit of pain but didnt once complain... And he is a sooky lala..!!

GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks Hollywood! Thats were the scenario was heading but by the time the ambulance arrived it was hard convincing the hospitals emergency ward to take the happy bouncing child (naked) and rush him to theatre.
We now have a two week wait for the Pedeatrician appoint. Hopefully no more events till then.......:fingerscrossed:
