Hi

Now that we are proud cloth users during the day, I am wanting to start using overnight also. I have 1 GK Dreamytime which has been great - but with only one it is just not going to do!!

I have brought a few different types of nappies - gk anytime and funtimes, berry plush, bumgenius pocket, peapods, plus some cushie tushies and missy moo on the way (sshhh don't tell hubby) I also have a few pul covers and a tots bots fleece cover, plus a few hemp and microfibre inserts.

What I am wondering is, has anyone used any of the above successfully for nights? Am I better off getting something else just for night use? Maybe Baby Beehinds? Do they need extra inserts? Will a bamboo fold up work better than hemp?

I am prefering to get something one sized so can use for both babies. And, I guess if I can use what I have without more shopping....

Sorry so many questions!!

Thanks

I put bamboo on him every night, covered in a wool soaker (or longies in winter). Works brilliantly.

Baby Beehinds bamboo are one size, Tots Bots Bamboozle are my preference and the size 2's can be folded down at the front to fit a little one - but they're only made with aplix now, which makes that more difficult...

I use bamboo baby beehinds with terry towelling training pants over the top:thumbsup: This was actually the firts combo we tried!! We did night time first:eek: We've had no problems at all, DD is always dry on the outside. The nappy comes with 2 inserts and that's plenty for us:yes:

Thanks!

Zada - what did you stuff your bumgenius with?

I was kinda thinking I might have to go with the baby beehinds, they seem pretty popular for nights - do you think they would work ok with the tots bots fleece cover or am I better off with something else?

We use a BBB with a wool soaker over the top for both boys, occasionally a tots bots bamboo but with extra boosting, a BBB fold up.
They are always soaked on the inside, but dry on the outside

Bamboo BB with foldup inside cover it all with a wool soaker/wrap. Lasts from 7pm til 7am:thumbsup:

I have some Berry Plush on the way but will be using them mostly as covers, occasionally as an AIO but only during the day.

To tell the truth I've used BB's for the past 9 months and have been so happy with them I haven't bothered getting anything else:) . But I want more cool covers and I figure with the Berry Plush I can benefit both from using them as a cover or nappy.

I have the rainforest, Northen Lights and Black on layby. Hopefully they're good because I want a couple of the others aswell - Sunrise, cheetah, dalmation, firestorm, and lavender fields........ well, that's just about all of them:D

Well Lachlan has worn is ocean one once, not sure about being able to just switch the inserts when wet because the PUL felt wet on the inside to me. But they are very plush and soft, and no leaks or wicking so if I had more money I would get them all :D

It's all about the money isn't it:rolleyes: . What I wouldn't give to have just a little bit more money!

I thought it was odd that you could just switch inserts, I'm not sure I'd do that myself. I saw one irl last week (rainforest) and it looked luscious! Made me desperately want them even more:yes:

Bamboo and wool is wonderful for night. Actually we use it a lot during the day too.

I just love the Berry Plush too but wasn't sure how they would do at night (ohh, so want a black one, where did you order it from???) I was going to just change the insert today but the cover did seem a little wet.

I have ordered a Baby Beehinds trial pack and will see how that goes. I thought we had enough nappies until Mason had one of those pooing days today...definitely need more with another bub on the way!!!

I'm going to get the Deluxe BB trial pack next week. This week I'm getting some Fuzzi Bunz. Has anyone seen the Starbunz? They are like animal faces! So cute!

The Berry Plush's are really quite nice. I hadn't really seen them before.

I have mine on layby at Nuture Nappies, but the colours I wanted/am getting aren't on the site. I had seen them at Darlings Downunder so I just asked Jayne if she had them. I can't recommend Jayne enough, extremely helpful:thumbsup:

We've used GK, Pea Pods and bumGenius at night all along with a Cotton Babies microfibre and a flannie flat nappy with no problem but you could use a hemp or bamboo trifold in place of the flannelette for a heavier wetter.

Looking at the OP, out of all those suggestions, I'd be going with the Bamboo Baby Beehinds and a bamboo fold-up to add for nights. Lasts us 12 hours and a LOT of overnight feeds!!

Mason isn't that big a wetter so pockets may do for him, but I figure I will need something pretty absorbant for the newborn with feeding all night - the less changes at 3am the better!!

I think a woolen soaker is the key to success overnight. We where able to use pockets o/n for ages, but then DD started wetting more & there was wee everywhere! We have been using BBB's with a woolen soaker overnight & had no problems. Got a new nap the other day - a pink butt wrap & it is even better imo. Most people swear by BBB though :-)
