Making Cloth for newborns

Hi guys,

I am only a recent convert to cloth so I skipped the newborn part.I've been asked to make some pockets for my expectant SIL but wasn't sure how helpful it was to do the extra cross over bit of velcro at the front. Ie so one arm can cross over the other and hence make the waist smaller - she has bought terry flats - would she be better off using them until the bub is bigger and I make mine as usual?

Ideas greatfully appreciated.

I use the cross over bit on my little bub - he's 11 weeks old (and almost 7kg lmao), I would put it on, it only takes a couple of seconds
