View Full Version : Party food for 20 people
Dd is having her 1st birthday soon and we want to have a series of hot and cold dishes that people can just help themselves to. I have Lasagne, potato bake and a pesto chicken salad on the list but am needing some more suggestions.
Looking for things that are tasty and can be pre-prepared. Any ideas would be much appreciated!!

For our sons naming day, we made most of the food the day before - a slow cooked version of ratattouille, a vegie frittata and roast chickens for use in chicken salad sandwiches. The frittata was served cold and the ratattouille was heated in the oven prior.
Have fun at the party!

devilled eggs are always a winner, also some tapas maybe? cut up veges with hommous and olives etc, savoury muffins work too... hmm spring rolls or maybe even some fruit platters

you could also do a cobb loaf. i dunno if you've done one before but if you havent and want to try go to the bakery and grab a fresh cob loaf, cut a circle out of the top and pull most of the bread out of the middle till you have just the shell left, place the shell on a baking tray and on another tray rip up all the stuffing into chunks, spray with a little olive oil cooking spray and toast until crunchy. Whilst doing that there are a variety of fillings, i usually put a slightly thicker version of tuna mornay in mine and then when the bread and the loaf is done pull it out and pour it into the hollow cobb loaf, after people are finished with the chunks of bread to dip with they'll tear off the sides and use that too... anyways sorry if you already knew about it!

What a good idea - Thanks for that!
