I have started taking Vitex. I am TTC but had to have large doses of oestrogen follwoing Surgery for Ashermans Syndrome in December. I felt that my oestrogen was still in charge even after finsihing it as I had severe PMS which prior to the oestrogen (brand name premarin) I had never experienced.
Has anyone else used this? Did it help?

Also I know it says to stop taking it when you get your BFP BUT I have heard anecdotal evidence that suggests that stopping taking it can mean your body suddenly stops making as much progesterone which can cause a m/c so that it is ok to keep taking it until 12weeks when the placenta takes over prog. production. Anyone heard of this aswell?

Hi

Yes I successfully used Vitex (chaste tree) to help us conceive (worked straight away). As soon as I was pregnant..........I stopped taking it and starting rubbing in some progesterone cream into my wrist once a day. The progesterone cream strengthens the lining of the womb to help reduce the risk of a M/C (which I'd previously had).

Good luck with it all.

Thanks for that. Wow! I hope it works that quickly for me too:fingerscrossed:

Out of curiosity, what dosage were you taking?

Can't remember the dose but it was just 1 tablet per day in the morning. I remember the jar I bought was a 3 month supply. Not a bad fertility treatment for $19!

Yeah that is pretty cheap huh?!
I have been taking 2x1000mg (1gram) tablets a day. On my label it had the option of taking one or two a day , so I decided to go the two. Why do things in halves?!

I already feel better this cycle even though I know it can take a few months to build up.

I had been on high doses of estrogen through December to assist in uterine lining building post-op and started getting the worst PMS ever after I finished the estrogen so I am certain a hormonal balance was the issue.

I am so glad I found a cheap remedy to fix it AND hopefully help me get my BFP.

It is hilarious huh?! Maybe if I get pg after taking Vitex I should name the baby after it?! Just kidding!

I took Vitex tablets and tried the liquid too.
I was taking it to try and shorten my cycle. But not with any success.
I did however get pregnant on the 3rd or 4th try.

Good luck. Hope it works for you:thumbsup:

Thanks, it gives me some hope as the only thing that has been different this cycle is that AF is late! I did a test (well a few!!) and it was negative. My BB's have been tender for a week now but aside from that the Vitex has helped to reduce all those niggly monthly pains.

I hope Vitex helps me get PG soon. I will see how long this cycle actually is before I decide whether or not to keep on the same dosage next cycle though.

Has anyone heard of it delaying AF?
