Oh my! Two days ago my DH went into our ensuite to find my DS playing with my hair dryer under the water tap, PLUGGED IN. Apparently he was trying to dry the floor where he had weed. WOAH!
I knew that he had gone to the toilet, so we weren't all to concerned that anything horrible was in fact happening in there. Luckily DH needed to go and wash his hands after cleaning up outside and walked in on DS before it was too late.
The thing that amazes me is:
1. He has never played with the hair dryer ever.
2. I didn't even think that he knew what it was for, as I don't even use it. It just sits in the bottom of my bathroom drawer.
3. That why if he was trying to dry the floor, would he be wetting it in the first place (if it wasn't so serious an issue I could possibly laugh at this).
4. Why wouldn't he just use the towel like we normally do if accidents occur?
The minds of three year olds and never to be underestimated.
I guess I am just posting this so that all parents are aware of the dangers that toddlers can get themselves into.
All I must say is THANK GOODNESS FOR HOME SAFETY SWITCHES (although it didn't trip so obviously he never got the hair dryer in contact with the water).
I cringe just thinking about his, and we have sat Bailey down and given him a very thorough talk about how dangerous his actions were.
I cried after the whole episode had finished and I had a chance to dwell on what really could have taken place.
