are you having a dating scan?

just curious who's having a dating scan and who's just going to have the normal scans and thats it, i've got my referal for my dating scan, I just have to book it, i'm going to make it for when i'm around 7wks which will be a couple of weeks away

As I was on fertility treatment I know what date I ovulated so I doubt they will send me for a scan just to date it... however I am having an 8 week scan (on the 1st March) at the fertility specialist to check on things. Also to check how many there are as I Ovulated with 2 mature folicles! :yelclap:

Cant wait and Im gonna ask for a picture to take home even though it will only be a teeny blob and look like a dot! :D

I'm not having a dating scan as i know when i Last had my period and when i O'd but my ob has given me the paperwork for the 12 week scan and he said if i'm feeling nervous or anxious i can take that paperwork and use it at 8 weeks to ease my mind! He is so nice :yes:

So i'm not sure if i will hold out till 12 weeks or not!:rolleyes:

well I just booked my first scan, i'll be 7wks and 2 days along going by LMP, so i'm happy, i have no idea when i O'd so its quite on the cards that my due date will change by a couple of days,

i'm so excited, going for a scan in 2wks time :smiliedance: I get to see my little peanut soon :fingerscrossed: with a strong heartbeat :yes:

When I saw him for a check up after my D&C he said he would send me for an early scan whenever I wanted, he said he would say it was to check 'pains' so I wouldn't have to pay - how nice!:thumbsup: Anyways I am hoping to hang out till 8wks as I lost my last bub at 71/2 weeks. Thought this would help ease my mind slightly! Not!

Do you think it's worth asking for blood tests to check HcG levels next week? Or just wait for the scan? Not sure what to do?

I am pretty sure the antenatal clinic I go to likes you to have a dating scan just to be as 100% of dates as possible. Not 100% sure about that though.

I had a scan at 4 weeks 2 days because the doctors wanted to make sure the pregnancy wasn't causing my abdominal pains. They also wanted to see if they could work out if it was my appendix playing up. It was good to be reassurred that the little sac was in the right spot. I ended up having the surgery to remove my appendix which left my DH and I freaked out. The doctors kept saying it was really risky for the continuation of the pregancy. We had all weekend to stew on it and called FS on Mond. morning. We already have an appt. scheduled with him on wed. 14th Feb. so he said I could have a scan that morning so he good talk to us about what he sees is happening so far. Then I made an appt. with an ob. in town on that same Mon (continuing to freak out of course). He ordered his own set of blood tests 2 weeks apart and then scheduled me for another scan in 2 weeks. Sorry to :ecomcity: but what I'm getting at is that will be 3 scans before 8 weeks.

I'm having a 12 week scan (actually at 11 weeks as we'll be away during my 12th week) and an 18 week scan.

sorry just butting in from june but my advice is to have a dating scan!!!

i didnt have one with coby and my dates ended up almost a month different from my lmp than my 18 week scan and they went by my scan coz of it :thumbsdown:

this time i had a dating scan which matched my lmp and at my 18 weeks scan the baby was measuring almost 2 weeks smaller than it should be but coz i had a dating scan that matched my lmp we are going by that!!

so it does pay to have a dating scan... dont want to be pregnant for another few weeks if you can help it!!

I have no idea when I'll get a scan. Well, I assume I'll just have what the standard is here. I haven't even rang the hospital yet! We've just moved here too, so I don't even have a regular doctor, i just went to the closest one to confirm my pregnancy. He has sent a referal to the local hospitals midwife team, so I will ring them soon. I really should get a wriggle on I think! :o

I am asking the Dr for a dating scan as I dont have a regular 30 day cycle. Mine is more like 33 days so I want to be sure of when I am due. :)

Actually I can't wait to find out. My next appointment with my OB is 10th March!! Ages away!

I'm having a dating scan - i know exactly when I Oed and my doc was cool with that, but she gave me a referral for a dating scan cos she said the antenatal clinic likes to have things a bit more definite and i have long cycles.
I'm not having the 12 week NT scan but i will have the 18 week scan.
