Well, we finally transitioned our DS to a big boy's bed last night so I had planned for a long night of him 'testing his freedom'.
We put him down to bed at 7pm and woke up at 5am this morning which is his normal routine. He called me from his room when he woke up and didn't get himself out of bed until I got in there.
He loved it!
Does this mean the transition will be easy or did we just have a lucky night?:p

Congrats to Ryan:yelclap: :smiliedance:
K you'd be suprised at how easy the transition can be.....O was very quick to adjust plus Ry is alot older then when we transitioned O etc so will probably take to it without much fuss a la last nights lovely sleep!
You may find though after a few nights that he'll become more confident and get himself out of bed.....may find him in your room at 2 am asking for a drink of water or a cuddle lol like O!
Gd luck for tonight im sure Ry will be just as good for you!
Now tell me are you having much luck with toilet training????? Im at a loss lol i think im the one holding him back as i feel like a whale these days and cant get any energy to be consistent with it....cant wait for Miss Iris to arrive!

Oh S, I've so missed you :hugs:
I think you might be right about changes in the next few nights. Luckily he has always loved bedtime though (and he loves his bedlinen with surfboards that 'Awwwwyando' sent him:D )
Nothing on the toilet training front. I thought we were getting somewhere last week but I think we're back to square one...:gloomy:
Well done Ry!
K - DD2 has been in a big bed for about 5 months and she still calls out in the night or the morning if she wakes - she doesn't seem to to have cottoned on that she can leave the bed herself when she wakes! The evenings are a little more entertaining - she and her sister share a room and do a bit of climbing from one bed to the other and playing with toys in the dark - but she doesn't come out......all of this is meant to demonstrate that Ry may continue like this without a big fuss!

Well done Ry... surfboard sheets, I love it...
No advice for you though, you are way ahead of me so I just wait 'till you do things and learn from your mistakes .
But congratulations, you should be very proud of your big little man.

Yes, I am extra proud of him - he's a very special big little man:D
T, I so hope you're right. I've been dreading the transition for ages and last night I wondered what was going on. I went in to check on him and he was fast asleep.:hugs:
:yelclap: Good Job Ry:yelclap:
Fingers crossed it keeps up for you.
We didnt end up making the big move yet, its planned for this weekend, so you may be able to give me a few pointers!!
That's great K! Hooray for lovely Ry!!!! :yelclap:

I hope my K's transition is just as smooth  Not likely though as he just climbed out of his cot again this morning and I woke up to slobber kisses..
Hi RM
I am sure that it will be really easy for you (and don't you just love it when they call you to get them up?). Even with DD2 (who is VERY strongwilled), we only had to put her back to bed a few times in the first few days.
Yay Ryan

He's 2 and a half. We left it quite late because he never climbed out of his cot so we didn't really have the urgency. Lately though, because he was getting so big, he had started sleeping diagonally:o to get more space so we figured that it was about time:laughing:
