Help...I went to the markets the other day and had a piece of chocolate slice like my mum used to make but can't find the recipe anywhere. It has coconut in it, cocoa etc etc. Then you ice it with choc icing and sprinkle with coconut. Does anyone have a recipe like this? Help me...I'm having major cravings.

Hi Taryn ,

This is the recipe i got from high-school! Sounds like what you're after?

6 tabs butter
2 tabs cocoa (sifted)
1/2 cup caster/white sugar
3/4 cup coconut
1/2 cup SR flour (sifted)
1 egg

Mix dry ingredients. Add melted butter and beaten egg. Mix well and spread over greased lamington tray. Bake in mod. (180) oven for 20-30 mins.

Icing - 1 cup icing sugar
1 tab cocoa
vanilla

Sift icing sugar and cocoa. Add drop of vanilla, and enough water to make right consistency. Spread over cooled slice and top with coconut. Cut into squares when set.

Just watch the time with the slice, 'cos sometimes it'll come out really dry if left in too long. I'd say it'd be closer to 20-25 mins instead.

Hope it works for you, i haven't made it for a while...
