My neice was eight at our wedding and her bombonineirre (I can NEVER spell that word) was some colouring-in books and pens to keep her occupied through the speech time (which was short).

colouring books and crayons. Playdough would make too much mess. Another thing could be glue sticks (they are not messy) and cut up wrapping paper of characters and give them plain paper to stick them onto. Or string and pasta or straws and let them make their own necklaces. With the straws just cut them into about an inch and then they just thread them!
All these ideas are good for boy and girl!!
Allocate one table to the kids and cover it in butcher's paper intead of a table cloth.
Place a bucket of pencils and crayons in the middle and let them draw away on the paper on the table.

Good ideas. What about a play pen with toys for the younger ones? Most of the kids are my bubs cousins and all get on well.

If you have the room that is famtastic, imagine having a toy in the middle of the dance floor and someone flying over it!!

When my daughter was flowergirl at a recent wedding the bride and groom did up a little activity bag for the children. It was great it included a colouring in book and crayons (no texta's), stickers, flash cards, a small book, a small puzzle and a couple of special treats (freddo frog etc).
The children at the wedding were really well behaved and had a ball. Most of the time they were either eating, dancing or with there parents playing with there activity packs.

I had planned on doing that as it sounds like a good idea:thumbsup: I just found something great to shove in the pack,As it is a chinese theme wedding this will work.It is a washer folded to be a skirt under a mini chinese brocade top.Great for sticky fingers and only $4.

That's a good idea, wish i had thought of that! My nephew cried once thru the whole thing, and the rest were soo well behaved though.. But still that would have been a great idea!
