Hi all,
This may be tmi, but I'm now 39 weeks pregnant & have the most awful cervical pain! :( I've given up leaving the house, because it feels like there is a knife in that general area! Sitting up is even a challenge sometimes!
Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Hi Bella,
I used always get twinges in my cervix in the last couple of weeks. If the pain is constant, you may have an infection, but you would have fever and (sorry to be gross), smelly discharge.
I would think that the pain is your cervix ripening. Anyday now and you will have bub in your arms ;)
Good luck! :D
I have a pain like that periodically through pregnancy. You have all my sympathy! It's probably just bubs bouncing on it or muscles stretching. I've heard it from other women too and no one knows what it is.

Im 36wks and was in hospital on Monday as I was having lower back pain, stomach tightenings and stabbing pressure down below. It just turned out to be either a bladder or kidney infection (still waiting on results) but the doctor did say that during the 3rd trimester some women to get an infection/virus in the vagina without knowing (no symptoms) it isnt harmful and doesnt effect you but can transfer to the baby during birth. If it is picked up it can be treated with antibiotics.
I suggest that you get your pain checked out just to be on the safe side.
Hi,
i have also gotten pains like this. i have asked my midwife about it who said not to worry that it is normal at this late stage.......
I explained it the same way... as though someone is stabbing me with a knife in the vagina (sorry tmi)
but mine is usually very sudden stabbings not generally hanging around. doesnt last a long time but long enough!
Is especially scary when driving in the car and this happens!
But i have heard it is probably things stretching in place or bubs bouncing on something..
