Hi Happy Lady
With both of my DD i had morning sickness right up to the day they were born :( And my best friend didn't have it at all. Some people are so lucky aint they!
everyone is different... Everyone kept telling me the sickness should die down by 13 weeks and It didnt! I was so depressed and dissapointed when I still had it!
Mine ended about 19wks i remember thinking that I was never going to feel "normal" again and be able to live a normal life with out vomiting!
Then one day I woke up and felt better!
I had my morning sickness really really badly and couldnt leave the house or the bed for that matter to do anything!
I ended up having to have some really strong medication to stop it otherwise I would have ended up in hospital for a while!
Good luck and hope you start feeling better soon!

Mine started at 5 weeks and lasted till about 11 weeks. Wasnt there a thread on here recently talking about MS being worse with the second child or something?
Maybe check that one out..........all babies are different lol so expect the unexpected hehehehe

In my 1st pregnancy it was about 20 wks i think. This time is was 16 or 18 weeks!! It really is aweful isn't it! :( Hang in there...
i thought for sure i would not survive during my MS!
by 14 weeks it had gone. i couldnt have been more happier in my entire life.
i only got MS with my girls. and definately worse with this bub #3.
MS is the most horrible feeling in the world, well at least what I have experienced anyway!
With my DS it started at 4 wks (yep) and lasted until 16 weeks and with my DD it started at 8 wks and lasted until 17 weeks.
Hint: Drink Red Cordial and eat Fruit Tingles. Maybe its the sugar but they both work a treat! ;)
Boy, I don't envy anyone going through it, I spent many times a day straddled over the toilet and sink. YUK! One consellation for me, is that I am never going to be pregnant ever again, and so do not have to experience the horrible sensation ever again either. Thank goodness!
Cheer up, hopefully you will be finished soon. :)
Hi All,
Well I'm just wondering when your morning sickness STARTED?
I know that Lis's started at 4 wks and O's Mum started at 5 weeks, but what about the rest of you? Is that pretty standard for it to start around that time?
The reason I ask is that I will be 5 weeks tomorrow, so I'm just waiting for it to start (Not!!)
I think that I may've had my first taste of it this morning when I woke up as I was a bit quesy but nothing too bad (hopefully it will stay that way - though I doubt it!)
With my DS it didn't start until about 8 weeks was not very bad at all and then was all gone by about 13 weeks.
This time it started at 5 weeks and is still continuing at 16.5 weeks.
I am just so sick of vomiting. It is not nice to vomit on any occasion but when it just goes on and on it really wears you out!!

It started for me at 5 wks and went through until 20wks, stopped, then started again at 30 wks and is still going.
I recommend 'amazing sea bands' which are really for travel sickness but worked a treat for my morning sickness, you get them at the chemist. They were magic (albeit very dorky looking ;) )

for #1 mine started at 8 weeks and finished 16 weeks to the day! it was awful :(
This time around, I only had 3-4 days of MS (actually all day sickness) at around 9 weeks. I'm 11 weeks today and feeling fine (just really vague and tired). I am sure it's a boy and that's why I feel better than i did with alice.

Does anyone know if those seabands would help out with simply vomiting?
I'm currently 16.5 weeks, I'm not so much suffering from lots of nausea - just vomiting about 4 times per week. Before I'm sick I only have nausea for 5 or 10 mins. Once I've done my business I feel fine.
I'm just not sure if those seabands would help prevent that vomiting as it comes on so quickly or if they are for general nausea.

I hope that's the case for me too!!
I had nothing with DS and this time it's hell!!
I have been saying I don't mind the sex but as the scan draws closer I keep looking at all the girly dresses in the shops, LOL  .

Mine stopped at 16 weeks for both, btw mine was "all day" sickness, not just the morning!!
With both my pregnancies I had Morning sickness for the whole pregnancy (including throwing up during labour)
With my first baby (dd) It wasn't too bad and I would feel constant nausia but I would only throw up every couple of days
With my second baby (ds) It was shocking, I was throwing up at least three times a day and had three hospital stays to rehydrate me. I was also on maxalon tabs about three times a day - which didnt really help much.
I lost 11kg with my DD and 16kg with my DS - I made up for it though with breastfeeding my bubs I became ravenous and put all the weight back on.
With my son I knew I was pregnant before I even had taken the pregnancy test as I was so sick :(
My mum told me not to have anymore kids as she coldnt stand having to go though any more pregnancies with me *LOL*
She doesnt realise I had a dream of having at least 3-4 kids!!!! It's just if I can deal with all the throwing up and sickness *doh*

A-J it sounds like you had hyperemesis (severe nausea and vomiting) like me :(
there is a great source for hyperemesis info and support at www.hyperemesis.org
I was really sick (lost heaps of wieght, IV drips, medication, couldn't work) until just before 20 weeks. Then still threw up once or twice a day until 37 weeks, had a few weeks *almost * nausea free before I had my daughter.
It will take alot for me to be willing to go through a pregnancy like that again. I loved giving birth and I love my daughter but being that sick is just so hard!

Yeah like Honey i had hyperemesis it started out like nausea & sickness around the 4wk mark then gradually got worse around the 6-7wk mark not letting up until the 8th month to which i had off & was happy & joyful to be plunged back into it all in the 9th month & even vomitted through my labour.
I was sick continuously through the day & nite i ended up having pillows & towels to sit/lay on because i would often spend the day in there. I kept a bucket beside me at all times around the house just in case as i had too many misshaps & it was bad enough with food smells let alone cleaning up your own vomit ! I even had trouble keeping the water down for my ultrasounds & i gagged the whole way through all 3 of them. I ended up losing something to the amount of 15kgs in the first 6 or so months. I avoided hospital because i just didnt want to go through the drips etc but was closely monitored by my g.p at the time. No-one not even my mum believed how bad i was at first until i managed to get over to visit her when i was 12wks i spent pretty much the whole visit in the bathroom. She went from telling me to "get over it" to "is there anything i can do ? did you want me to come over & look after you ?". I was worried something would be wrong with bubs because i couldnt keep anything down but he proved me wrong didnt he ! all 4.5kgs !!!! hehehehe
My only thing having the next bubs is getting through the sickness if i have it again mind you but even my mum & partner agreed it probably is a good idea if we wait till bubs is at least able to do some things for himself before we try again just incase. I could hardly go near the kitchen due to smells last time let alone get a meal for anyone !
But then i dont care they are sooooo worth it :D
My nausea and vomiting started around 6 weeks and was a daily, all-day thing until about 17-18 weeks. It was worse at nights. I found if I ate in bed I could avoid the morning toilet hugging session, but it was hard to manage in the late afternoons/early and late evenings. It's subsided to the odd once a week session now, I'm 26 1/2 weeks. I only feel nauseated if I miss the early hunger or thirsty signs (temp rise and mild icky feeling).
