Just wondering if any fellow hubbers have Crohns disease?

Hi,
I havent got it myself but my mum does. How long have you known you've had it for, im led to believe that it isnt a plesent experience. I have gotten to know alot about it though, is there anything you are uncertain about?

I have it my sister has it and my aunty has IBS and my pop had bowel cancer so it runs in our family.. fun fun fun..

I have had for five years and it was really bad especially after the birth of my first bub. I was on predisone and I think this is why I had trouble b/f him. I had to comp him for six months. I went and saw this natural doctor who put me on lots of minerals and vitamins and finally got me off predisone after three years. I have been remission so to speak for nearly a year and a half and I think it has alot to do with the breastfeeding and pregnancy vitamin Elevit. I have been able to b/f my current bub with no problems at all and have never felt so good. I am going to continue taking these vitamins after i had finished breastfeeding as I think they are wonderful.

I just thought I would let you girls know this and see if you have any experiences with this.

I have it, but only a mild case. I am on Mezalazine (5 tabs twice a day...I rattle!!) and luckily it works a treat for me. I went off it in the last month before DD was born, and was knocked pretty flat after the birth. Once I went back on it I was fine again. I breastfed, as Gastroenterologist said only a minimal and harmless amount would go through breastmilk. Just hope DD doesn't get the gene!!
