View Full Version : Hands up pill-poppers!
Okay, this is a thread for those of us who have to take medication (be it pills, injections, etc) who need to have a vent!
I am so sick of taking my meds and even though I've looked into natural therapies, they just don't work as effectively as the drugs! And I'm so annoyed by the amount of money I have to spend on meds! When you are on an incredibly tight budget like we are, a bottle of pills for $50 is a real dint in the weekly spending money.
I have rheumatoid arthritis and am currently taking methotrexate, prednisone, diclofenac and folate, as well as taking the contraceptive pill. I also think I'm in need of vitamins and fish oil to boost my immune system.
Okay, now it's your turn!

I'll join in. I'm taking medication for my Under active Thyroid, plus I've just had to start taking medication for my PND ! ! ! :banghead:
I hate taking tablets, and having to remember them is a pain in the bum. With my Thyroid tablets I have to take them in the morning an hour before food. I'm the kind of person who needs to eat when they wake up or I feel faint until I do eat. :devil6: I hate it, and this is how it will most likely be for the rest of my life.
Anyone else going to join in ? ? ?:detective:

I'm meant to take heaps of tablets and injections 3 times a week but i dont:shame:
here is what im meant to take
Interferon Beta-1b - injection into muscle every second day
Gabapentin - to help with pain and spasticity
Ibuprofen - when needed for pain
I also have another one for pain but cant remember what its called or how to spell it
Anti D's
Methylprednisolone - taken when i have a relapse
( To Manage Multiple Sclerosis)
So since we decided to start a family ive stopped all these meds and am only taking Metformin but it has been making me sick so havent taken it for a few weeks.
I used to take granny drugs for my heart. I hated it. My body became so dependent on it. Sometimes it was hard to brush my hair. I was also told i could never have any more kids because of the complications. So I read as much as I could about raw food diets, changed my life and my condition.
No cardiologist can explain it. Anything is possible. I am so glad i am not strapped to a halter monitor and going for my stupid heart ecg's all the time. And we've saved thousands on our medical bills.:fingerscrossed:

yep i'm on zoloft (an antidepressantI.I am one of thse unfortunate people who feel majorly depressed even when circumstances are great. For the past six years i have felt on a really even keel.I will never stop taking it.Thank goodness for drugs! And because im on a health care card i only pay less than $5 a month.!!!
I also am a pill-popper. Shake me and I rattle baby!!
I have to take anti-d's and have been for years. Still am not able to wean off....
I also take thyroxine for my thyroid which doesn't work at all so that's a lifer.
I also take the pill so I know when I get my period, otherwise I forget and get caught out when in public. Seriously!
Take me off them and I become a bloated, grumpy cow.
