I have a heap of GKs which I love but I am finding that DS leaks during his day naps. He wears BBB at nights and I don't usually have a problem with them.
I have tried boosting them up with microfibre but this still doesn't seem to work. He usually rolls around a bit and when he does wet through it is on the sides.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I was considering getting some more fitteds and covers - is this the best option or should I try and persevere with the GK's?
are you using funtimes or anytimes? I can put my DD in an anytime with a hemp insert and a hemp booster and it will last the night no probs.
are you doing them up tight enough?
have you washed your inserts enough?
are you putting a 'fresh' nappy on before his nap?

I only use anytimes for naps, I just got him up after 2 hours wearing a fresh anytime which I had the hemp booster in as well as the standard hemp insert (I tried the microfibre one yesterday with the same result).
They have been washed about 6 times now (with Aware powder). How tight is tight (I hate to leave him with read marks from the elastic at the back if I have them on too tight.
theres not a build up on them is there? Also are the inserts flat?
yes, I agree with zada, you could be using too much washing powder. hemp takes around ten (i think) washes to become most absorbant.
not sure but I have never used pockets for naps, they just don't work for us. Perhaps just use them when he is up?

This happened to me- I grabbed one of my clean Gk's and poured some water on the suedecloth and saw what was wrong- it was beading off the suedecloth inner instead of wicking straight through it. So when Ariene peed, it was just going WHOOSH out the sides. Specially with the post-nap power wee (on waking).
Maybe check to see if this is happening with yours- if it is, a strip wash should fix it

I will try a strip wash. Should I just do this with the inserts or with the covers as well?
Thanks for all of your tips though.... food for thought!
