View Full Version : I'm new to all this... please help
Hi ladies,
I have been tracking how long my cycles are and now we have decided the timing is right to start trying for a little one. I'm so excited
These are the lengths of my recent cyles:
31 days, 33 days, 31 days, 31 days, 28 days, 31 days, 31 days and my last was 27 days..
So I guess my question is when should we be "doing the deed" this month ............
Thanks so much :)

well people ovulate at different times. do you have any signs of when you do?:detective:
if not -you'd probably be safe with going every 2nd day between say cd 10 through to 22.
that's just a guess but most people with cycles of those lengths would be right between then sometime.:D
oh and welcome aboard!
Hi there, cause your cycles are irregular its hard to say when you will ovulate, do you get any symptoms when your ovulating? like EWCM? or O pains?
if I were you I would be BD'ing ever second day from day 10 through to day 20 and hopefully you'll catch the egg
good luck with the ttc
The best thing to do is work out when YOU ovulate. And going by cycle length isn't always the best way to do it (I think that's the reason I haven't fallen pregnant yet, the first few months I just assumed I ovulated mid cycle like books suggest).
You can work out when you ovulate by checking your mucus regularly and noticing any changes. When you notice an increase in mucus and in becomes more watery or like egg whites then you know you will ovulate in the next couple of days, and that's a good time to get cracking :)
Another way to tell is to chart your temperature, but its a little more annoying. You have to take your temperature every morning at the same time and you have to had four hours sleep. What happens is that when you ovulate your temperature makes a noticable rise after a noticable drop. This is also a good way to tell if you're pregnant or not, later in the cycle if your temp keeps rising after ovulation you'll know that you are pregnant.
Hope that wasn't information overload.
I've found its all simplified by using fertility friend to track (just google it), its an online charting program that helps.
Thanks so much girls, you've been a great help :yelclap:
Best of luck to all others trying out there too.. :hugs:
