So i defrosted some precious EBM ready for last feed of the evening, warmed it slightly...... and she won't take it.
Don't spose i can put it back in the fridge and try again later can i?
All that time and effort to express it.. hate to waste it.

My husband is a Food Tech, he does food contamination in dairy products for a living. He says that it's probably not a good idea, there is risk esp as the milk was not pasturised before freezing (obviously :))

As a BF mama, I totally understand your pain at seeing EBM go to waste! It's enough to make you cry, isn't it?

ooh liquid gold :(

when I was expressing - I tried to encourage Jack to drink it without heating it .. cause once you warm it .. you are just encouraging those bacteria!!!

sigh - sorry hon .. it has to go ..

Boy do I hear you on this one, I express every feed and been having some supply problems and I was even to the point of getting so frustrated when she wouldn't drink it all that I would cry.

I now sit the bottle in a jug of boiling water topped up for about an hour to keep it warm and try again within that time and usually she drinks the rest.

I nearly cried when I read this as you can't reheated EBM at all you can keep it for maybe 10-15 mins depending on the weather

Well, i'm only just getting back to your replies. I think i knew the answer - but just didnt want to face the truth.
However..... i ended up succeding not long after my post... and guess what, she slept throught the night for the first time in weeks.
It was another battle tonight but she was happy to take it from my DH.
Hopefully she starts to get used to the bottle, as i think it fills her up that extra bit.
Cheers
