Hello,

I just wondered if anyone has ever tried using the chinese calander (http://http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q294/niesl_bugs/Peanut/ChineseGenderCalendar.jpg) while TTC in order to get the sex they want? and if so how accurate was it? cause when i found it i saw that it was correct with my DS and with most of my friends with childeren, apart from one.

Now that we are TTC #2 , we were hoping to have a girl next (not that it's imperative or anything just a preferance) and i wondered if we should go by that. I guess anythings worth a shot hey lol but i guess i'm wondering that if we were to use it would it bring bad luck?

Well i think its a load of @#*%

Cos my little one sure is a funny looking girl.. "SHE" even came with a few dangly bits...

In all honesty i believe its a joke.. i mean come on... its a 50% chance thats its going to be right... thats alright odds to get it right here and there..

I could make up a chart like that and have the same results...

After all we all know its not how old you are and what month you have sex in that determines the baby... Its when you have sex throughout the month and what quality/make up the spermies are...

was right for me
was right for every one of my mum's 3 pregnancies
was right for every one of my dad's sister's 3 pregnancies
was right for every one of my mum's sister's 3 pregnancies
was right for 3 out of 4 of my dad's sister in law's pregnancies (and the one it was wrong for was a stillborn)

bit better than luck I think.

Well i better send my beautiful boy back to the factory cos mine must be defective... Few to many parts apparently... ;)

As i said its 50/50... your family got lucky.. your in the  50%... Just dont forget about the 50% that was:thumbsdown:

For every up there is a down.. For every right there is a wrong..

Its great your family managed to fluke it.. If you believe it then thats great..

Well i guess each to their own. But theres no need for you to be so narky about it.

Wow! that's so awesome! Way too co-incidental for luck!

As i said. We don't mind what sex #2 will be, but it would be nice to have a girl. So i guess i don't mind trying anything. I mean gees it's not like you have to pay for it lmao

It's right for me, my sister's and our Mum

I don't go by it though when ttc
as we aren't really particularly interested in
conceiving one sex over another....

Gee im terribly sorry... and here i was thinking i had a right to an opinion...

If you only want people to write want you want to hear then dont ask a question in a public forum...
I gave my opinion and my views..Thats all..
No one said you had to agree with it but i have every right to express it..

Have a great day..

I didn't say you couldn't express an opinion. But there's just no need for the narkyness.

you have a great day too.

I think photobucket is down atm but I have seen the chart before and it was correct for DS.
They did a experiment on the tv about this, they tried it on 4 women and it was correct for 3 of them. So 3/4 isn't bad I guess.

An Aussie parenting mag did a survey thing on it, got thousands of responses and found it to be something like 80% accurate.

I'll try find it, interesting reading, and from a randomised sample like that you can't honestly say "they just got lucky"
