I have moved from Vic and want to get my DD weighed.
In Vic I could just call the nurse and make an appointment to see her at any time. Is it the same here?
I have seen scales in the chemist - do they work from there or have a seperate office?
Do I call the council to find my closest?

When we got posted back from Vic, after having the best CHN ever, I went to the local baby health office (they are quite often in local schools here as well as seperate offices), and got the most horrible nurse who wanted me to change my yellow book for a blue (NSW) one, and carried on like I had no idea what I was doing (this was with no.5 too, by the way). Needless to say, 20 months later, I haven't seen a NSW nurse since...I think Vic spoiled me!
Anyway, my vent is over... your local council should be able to give you the info...pretty much the same set up, ring and make an appointment. Some have drop in times too, though usually wise to make an appointment for 1st visit (yep, got in trouble for that too):D .
Enjoy your new place...

Look up the health page in the phone book or child and family health nursing in the phone book and you'll find either the local clinic number or a healthlink 1800 number you can call to get the details for your local office.
Where are you and I can tell you from the brochure I got last week with my referral for our new bub?
We see our Health Nurse at the local Commuity Centre.
If you don't particularly want to see a nurse you can have them weighed at the chemist too.
I was surprised when DS had to have some of his vaccs in vic, the doctor didn't have scales and neither did the chemists
Council will definately be able to point you in the right direction.
