Hi everyone
I was wondering if anyone had any experiences - good or bad - at the Mater Private Hospital in Cleveland (Redlands) in Brisbane. Even if you have friends who have delivered babies there, I would be interested to hear what people's views are.
Many thanks!

I had an elective c/s there last year, and I found them to be excellent. There were only a couple of other patients on the ward, so it was not busy. The midwives were very helpful. DH was able to stay overnight, but he did not get a meal (I think they were $10). If I can talk DH into another bub I will definately be going back there.
Goodluck with your decision.
I can't speak from personal experience, but one of my girlfriends had her first baby there and was happy with it.

Both my DH's SIL's had their bubs there in 2005 & I am having bubs there any time now. The obstetricians (2 share care now) are FANTASTIC, the birthing classes are wonderful, the staff are lovely & it never seemed really busy up there whilst visiting SIL's & the middies always seemed really helpful too. There is no special care nursery there but bubs can go up to main hospital if in need of that. Bubs rooms in with you the whole time & DH can sleep over in same room. There is one free meal included for DH but rest are $10. My DH will be working days & showering at home just at Wello Pt then coming & staying o/n at hospital. Birthing suites look nice & comfortable too & NOT like an operating theatre how I always imagined them to be. Good luck!
