Hi,

I will be moving to the Yarra Ranges (Chirnside Park) in a few weeks and was wondering if there is any other parents or parents to be who live out that side of Melbourne.

A little about me: My name is Yvonne I am 26 dh is 36 been married for 2 years now and we have a beautiful daughter Natasha who was born on the 7th July 2004 by emergency ceasearean at Mitcham Private.

Before becoming a mum I worked as a Support Worker with the disabled and loved it and am about to go back to part time work next week which I am a little nervous about. DH will be the Stay at home mum as he runs his own business from home.

Hope to chat and maybe meet up with some others soon.

Yvonne

Hi Yvonne,
I'm from Kilsyth (we're practically neighbours!)
We were almost neighbours with our babies too - Lucas was born at Mitcham Private on the 22 June 2004 - what did you think of that hospital? Would you go back again? Anyway, as you can probably tell by my avatar I have two boys, Jesse who is 4 and Lucas who is 16 months.
Where are you moving from?
A little about me - I'm 32 (no that can't be right...yes, it is!) and my hubby is 32 also. I'm a SAHM but before that I worked in admin for the Victoria Police and my husband works for Toyota in Altona (I know looong drive to work)
Anyway, you'll love it out here - especially Chirnside Park, there are lots of young families around the new estates and the shopping centre is quite good too.
Talk to you soon. PM me any time.
Carly
P.S. I just realised that I answered your thread on your little one not sleeping - honestly, waking Lucas up after 1 to 1.5 hrs is really working. It's so hard to do when you're right in the middle of something but definately try it. A couple of days ago I was out while Lucas slept and my dad was at our place. He didn't wake him up so guess where I was until 4am!!!!! Then the following day, woke him up after 1 hour and he slept like a log the next night.
Talk to you soon.

Hi Carly,

I really liked Mitcham Private and I would definatly go back there if we decide to have another baby. However I did not like my ob now I think about it. I have had a few friends who have also gone to Mitcham and most liked it except the one who had a handful of bad midwifes I guess it is luck of the draw. You can get bad midwifes at any hospital. I think I only had one bad midwife who happened to be an agency nurse and I swear she came onto her night shift drunk. How did you find Mitcham Private?

We are moving from Croydon so not to far to move thankfully. We are moving into the Chirnside Village Estate which is great as it is sooo close to the shopping centre and yes full of families which hopefully means it will be quite at least quiter then where we are now.

I still am finding it difficult to wake DD up as I think that because she is up all night perhaps I should let her catch up on her sleep during the day :o . I have however been trying to keep her up a little longer before bed time and I think that is helping her sleep a bit longer. I probably should go and wake her now as it has been almost 2 hours I feel like such a monster doing it though :(

Talk to you soon

Yvonne,
I have left you a PM, but I just wanted to know, who was your ob?
I had Dr. Peter Tang and I thought he was wonderful - when we'd go to see him Jesse would get a lolly and a stamp, and he really included him in what was going on with mummy. Apart from that, he was very caring and supportive - I developed a spinal headache after Lucas' birth and when the nurses wouldn't give me anything but Panadol (in 1 hour's time they told me), he came in after much protesting to the nurses by my mum, and straight away gave me pethidine (it's things like this that you remember!!!!)
Anyway, talk soon
Carly
