View Full Version : Nasal spray symptoms
Hi, was wondering if you all could enlighten me as to what to expect with the nasal sprays, have read the information sheets but its more helpful to hear it from those who have been there first hand. Thanks
I have had no symptoms on the nasal spray the two times I have used it. I get a swollen belly when I am on the injections but that is because I get between 15 - 20 eggs. From the people I know doing IVF no one has had symptoms from the spray except maybe a headache.
Thanks for that, its a bit worrying when you get the list of potential symptoms. :)
Hi. I have just completed a donor cycle and was taking the synarel spray for this. I only got the occasional headache while sniffing.
Thanks for your response, am starting to feel a little bit less concerned about it all now. This is my first time through IVF, so its all very new and scary. Thanks again.

Hi ab2104
I had headaches in the evenings with the spray which were settling with Panadol . I used to take 2 tablets every nights before going to bed .
The spray also leave a bad taste in the back of your throat , I used to drink plenty of water and eat a snack ...
Hopes that helps . Take care and good luck .:)
 gals,
Glad to note other have similar probs. I get the headaches, bloating & phantom back pains/belly pains inc. cramps off & on (on top of migraines, heat etc). Go figure ... I too get above av egg sacks for ICSI/ivf. At my 1st cycle they collected 12 'eggs'. This cycle (2nd) I feel worst. Somehow the gonalf + syneral spray combo makes me feel very lethargic / sleepy plus not keen on eating or nibble mostly foods that are salty or sweet .I guess like a trail morning sickness lol. Take care. With the right medical care plan you'll be ok hun. We just have to push on  118
HI I started the synarel spray Tuesday 25th January and going to start Puregon this Tuesday I have had a few headaches and my pants are starting not to fit due to swelling.
I have had 3 children but this is my first time through IVF, so its all very new and scary to me also.
Cheers Deb
