We have had our puppy for 2 and a half weeks he is a good dog we didn't even have any whinging when we bought him home.
I want to know if there is anyway we can find out what breed he is, the people we got him off said he was Staffy cross ridgeback, but he has got these red splotches through his fur which is making me think he has red heeler in him. Having a red heeler and a child worries me a little, I was actualy bitten by a blue heeler.
Should I be worried or will it be ok?

I'm not sure about the Red Heeler? Our puppy has Stuffy x Ridgeback and he is a GORGEOUS dog, very gentle with DS.

I have a blue heeler (who is beautiful with kids, we've had 3 and they all have been), and although heeler's have a reputation, i think it's how you raise the dog (in most cases) that makes the dog . And he's not purebred, so he will hopefully have the Staffy temperament anyhow, they are gorgeous dogs!!

It does not matter if he has red heeler in him if you train him right you will ont have a problme I am a vet nurse and i have been bitten or had at least every breed try to bite me, socialise him well, get him into obeidience training and you will end up with a great little dog

I agree - its how the dog is raised, and it sounds as though it has a nice temperament to start with.

Good luck with the pup
