I need to start using a 'double nappy' at night times on my 8mth old. Does anyone have a favourite fold for double nappies. It's too hard to do a double with the fold I use usually???? Help??

Is it because she's weeing heaps and heaps? I've heard of people putting a night-time pad (yes, a feminie hygiene pad  ) inside the nappy.

I use a terry folded into a pad shape in all his nappies, nothing fancy since I'm not very good at origami ;) I've found the best night nappies to be stuffables that I can put really absorbent stuff in like microfibre cleaning cloths from the supermarket. That plus a hemp stuffer and a folded terry is fine for us. My night nappies are Brightbubbas which NEVER leak! They're amazing! She's not making them any more but you can pick them up on eBay sometimes. :)

With terries or prefolds, I just put a pad folded one inside the other. If terries, the Jo and Maria folds are both quite adjustable to accomodate a bulky booster. Alternatively you could buy pocket nappies and stuff your nappies in them, or hemp boosters (you can get fleece-topped ones that double as liners), or a night fitted... lots of options.

A good wool cover also adds more absorbency of its own, and the breathability means there is less moisture to contain and reduces the 'sauna effect' dramatically, especially in summer.

we use a cloth square folded up (not kite shape) and a flannelette booster that i sewed up and fluffies nappy covers and that works for us. You can get disposable boosters called 'nappy mates'from some supermarkets which have a sticky strip on the back and are pretty absorbant (they are like big 'surfboard'pads). For the enviro option there is a company called weenies who make pad inserts for their eenie weenie nappy pants- the small ones hold about 200ml and can be used inside a normal cloth nap. they are biodegradable and contain no plastic- the pkt says you can put them in the compost but i dont.
