Child Care Centres

I am fairly new to Canberra and I was wondering if anyone from Canberra have any recommendations for really good child care centres around Tuggeranong?? At this stage I need to put Bub in childcare at 12 months old.

Try Greenway CCC- tuggeranong
Thomas the tank- Bonython
Gordon ECCC- Gordon
Lanyon CCC- brand new- Conder
Salem CCC- Kambah
Any of the communities at work centre- various Southside
Bunyarra- Chisholm

Can't offer any childcare centres as I am in the same boat as you - I'm moving to ACT in Feb06.

Thanks Shannon - I have heard a few good things about Greenway so I will look into that. It's so hard to even think about goin gback to work eventually and even worse trying to find a good place to leave your child :eek:

Being in Childcare yourself what are some questions or even things to look out for when looking for the right one?

Look with your heart! If you feel comfortable with the staff team that is the main point! Staff who interact with the children, seem quite happy to be at work etc!!!

Ask their policies on siick children, behaviour managment, parent imput into the program! That will give you a basic overview of the place...

Also be sneaky and wander past the yards over a few days (when the children are outside playing) that way you can see interactions and how comfortable the children are with the staff!!!
