Is a four month old baby 16 weeks old or 4 calendar months old after baby is born?

Eg. My son is 16 weeks old tomorrow. Does that make him 4 months old or will he be 4 months on the 11th Feb (4 months after he was born on the 11th Oct)???

Just interested for when he gets immunized or when it comes time to introduce solids etc...

I know when he was smaller it didn't matter, but the gap is getting bigger as he gets older!

Yep - I gave up counting weeks at 12 weeks and switched to calendar months.

For immunizing it is definitely 4 calendar months - the nurse who gave my DS his 2 monthly ones said that it is very important that they not be given more than 5 days before the 2 calendar month mark - rather than at 8 weeks as many people think.

Just like the other ladies have said it's calendar months for 2 month, 4 month, 6 month immunisations etc...

My son was born on 5th Sept 2006 and will be 5 calendar months on 5th Feb, however when people ask his age I started saying he was 5 months when he hit the 20 week mark.
