Just wondering what happens at the checkup after a D&C...
My doctor said he wants to see me in 4 weeks... But I just want to be prepared as to whats going to happen...
Do I have to have a blood test to see if the Hcg levels have returned to normal??
Cheers

Crazy Monkey im so sorry to hear about your loss.
We were due on the same day.
My thoughts are with you hun if you need anything let me know
My visit was short and sweet. The Dr at hospital read my file, said tests from D&C were normal, asked about AF asked if i had any questions. That was about that.
My surgeon just asked me about the bleeding after the D&C, had a feel of my tummy and said wait till i get another proper AF before trying again. I think it only took about 10 mins.
I think they only take blood if you're still bleeding.

Thanks ladies... Not so nervous now...
I didn't have to go in for a check up. Instead my Ob rang me a week after the d&c and told me the results of the pathology tests (all clear), asked about how I was feeling and about the bleeding and then said I should wait until AF arrives before TCC again.
My bleeding stopped last Friday (1 week after my d&c), but (TMI WARNING!!) I have noticed a bit of brown cm today - would that just be left over from last week??

Same as the other ladies - we discussed my pathology results, talked about period coming back, birth control and when to try again - and that was about it.

Mmm same, but be prepared as it might be quite 'clinical' IYKWIM
I wasn't prepared for the ob/gyn to give me a rundown of the contents of my evacuated uterus it seemed pretty insensitive at the time as to me it was my baby not 'contents'.
:hugs: to you and good luck!
