Has anyone tried the formula you can get to relieve constipation in babies? I don't mean prescription ones, just the one you can get off the shelf at the Chemist. Did you find it helped? Was it worth the extra money? Or was there little or no difference made to the constipation?

I don't need advice on how to treat/deal with constipation as we've been through this before so know all the tricks and remedies, but I'm looking for feedback on this formula before I talk to my GP about it.

Thanks.

Hi Mrs Potts, I have an 11 wk old and use the formula Novalac, they have a formula specially for constipation you can buy at the chemist (is this the one you are talking about?) I have used it a few times for my son when he has been constipated, it worked beautifully without being too much and found it to be very gentle.
I keep him on this formula for two days (approx 12 bottles) and it clears up in no time, usually on the first day but I keep him on it for an extra day just in case, which is perfectly fine.
The only negative is the tin only lasts for three weeks once opened so the rest of the tin usually goes to waste, but it works wonders for my baby so is worth the money to buy it every time I need it!
Hope this helps!
