Kaylee Marie born 4th January 2007
We arrived at the hospital at 6:30am with my contractions 5mins apart and as my waters hadn't broken yet were told that it could still be awhile. As the time passed the contractions started to get closer together and the pain was getting more and more intense. It was now 9:00am and i was walking up and down the room really trying to concentrate on my breathing as i was trying to go drug free. The midwife decided i to check to see how far along i was and with great dissapointment found i was only 4cm. I was counting on being around 7cm as i was comparing the pain and contractions with the labour of my first child. The midwife then asked if i would like to have my waters broken to help speed things up, i couldn't say yes quick enough. As soon as my waters were broken the pain of my contractions shot straight up and started comming every 30-60secs. As i had been walking around to help with the contractions i decided to get on the bed as i just didn't think i was going to be able to stand anymore. I also asked for an epidural as the pain was just getting too much for me. Not even 5mins later i felt that urge to push, i started to freak out a bit as i didn't think i should be feeling that already. It had only been 20mins since they broke my waters. I started to yell out and telling everyone that i needed to push, the midwife didn't think it was time yet and told me not to push and to try and breath instead. As i was laying on my side no one could really see what was happening. I then could feel the baby comming out, the midwife decided to have a look, and as soon as she lifted my leg my beautiful baby girl was born. I was in total shock of what had just happened and couldn't believe i was holding my baby already. She came just 26mins after they broke my waters at 4cm i didn't even get that epidural because she came too quick.
