After DS just being diagnosed with his first case of oral thrush, I was wondering - does something cause this? I know its a common baby thing, but I seem to think it's co-insided with feeding DS a new soy yoghurt? (And also being a little slack on brushing his teeth?)
Also, should I be sterilising his bottle teats, spoons, etc to stop re-infection?
Any advise would be much appreciated :D
We've got some drops from the chemist and hopefully we'll get on top of it. :fingerscrossed: Cant imagine it'd be very nice for the poor little bugger

Lots of causes.
Try and cut as much sugar out of his diet, that will just make it worse.
As long as you are washing everything in hot soapy water, reinfecting shouldn't be a problem.
Hopefully the drops clear it up for you.
i agree it maybe your childs diet which is causeing the oral thrush, my son had it also when he was a toddler and drops from his H/V was given and it cleared up, however i was advised to steralise his eating/drinking equipment to ensure all was cleaner than clean to prevent a reoccurence.
hope all goes well

Oral thrush can be caused from objects that have been put in your babies mouth that are from a moist environment e.i. a bottle or dummy or if you use nipple shields. My DS got oral thrush when he was 2 months old because I was using nipple shields all the time. I had to sterilise them after every use (this is really important as you don't want to keep re-infecting). If you are using any of these things for your baby, the best thing for you to do is boil everything after you each use and to also get yourself some Daktarin Oral Gel from your local Chemist. Just ask your Pharmacist, they will explain everything to you.
Hope I have helped:thumbsup:
