I had frozen a huge batch of mushed vegies for the duration of the age 6 months. Just about out and now we are 7 months.

I am about to pop out to get a trolley full of vegies when the thought came to me... can I freeze this batch. Being 7 months it has to be lumpier? or grated? or small cut up chunks. Can you freeze that sort of stuff or is it better just served straight from cooking?

I also use jars but that is only last resort. No particular reason just enjoy making it myself.

With it being a little chunkier it may not fit into icecubes as well but I went to Reject Shop and purchased some small containers with screw on lids for $1 each. I guess it depends on the size of your freezer on how many you could fit it! But if you still wanted to use icecubes I guess you may have to give an extra cube as you would not fit as much in.

At around 7 months I think I started to mash food, with a fork,or a potato masher will work well too.I use icecube trays,I found some deep ones to fit more in.

Maybe just see how your bub likes it? Your baby doesn't know the book says "now at 7 months we have to have a different texture" ;) If bubs was happy with mashed/pureed maybe just change it a little and watch how they react. The gag reflex can still be strong at such a young age and a change to textures will be very noticeable if it's not acceptable :)
