I took them with both of my pregnancies, they're great.

The two most popular pregnancy/prenatal vitamins are Elevit and the Blackmore's ones.

I took Elevit for my first pg and am taking them again for my 2nd. It's true you have to take them 1 month prior to conception and I took them up until I finished bf.
My iron levels were great through my entire pg and I only suffered very mild ms.

Hi, I use Blackmores. The reason is simple - I wanted something that has iodine in as well. My endocrynologist recommended that to me as it's great for babies brain development and intelligence. Elevit doesn't have iodine. I still use it while breastfeeding my 4 mo DD.

I take Blackmores Preg and breastfeeding vitamins. I find them easy to swallow. (I have troubles swallowing tablets for some reason).

Um, don't mean to be a complete bore either, but it is recommended that you start taking folate (your supplements), eating healthy and looking after your body at least 4 to 3 months before trying to conceive.

This lets your body have the best build up of folate in you system for when the baby needs it, the first few weeks of development.
It also ensures that you eggs and overall well being is in the best possible shape for conception and a healthy pregnancy.

Your partners (cough) sperm can also benefit form this preconception diet too.

I've been taking it since we started TTC #1 (so for about 5 years now!)

I find it excellent & I wouldn't take any other.

My Dr recommends only Blackmores & one other brand (Nature's Own??), as these both contain the best levels of iodine, which is necessary for the growing baby. Most Australian diets are actually deficient in iodine. But she prefers Blackmores as it has sufficient levels of all the other nutrients also.

I just noticed my local health food shop has a new size out of the Blackmores - 180 capsules. It comes in one of those big plastic tubs like the fish oil tablets and it was about $45.

I have been taking Blackmores P&BF GOLD for 12 months now... only because that was how long it took us to conceive... I was planning on taking them for at least 3 months before trying but we started trying earlier...

One thing i must tell everyone who is taking them...
Blackmores advised me to take the 2 daily dose of tablets seperately... as in take one in the morning and one in the afternoon/evening. I emailed them to ask and that is the advice they gave.

I have been taking them since I found out I was pregnant (feb 2005) and I'm still BF so I'm still going strong. They really are good.
