Hi! How are you?
I'm coming up to the Sunshine Coast on a mini-holiday before going back to uni.
I'll be there next week, from Thurs 1st - Sun 4th February.
I'm just wondering if any of the Sunshine Coast mummies wanna meet? Friday or Saturday is the best day for me.
Also, I'm asking if there are some unusual or 'not to be missed' touristy things that I can do that's ok for my 12 month old to come along to.
I do plan on spending a large chunk of my holiday taking surf lessons, swimming at the beach and the pool, but this might get repetitive after a day!

Although it is a popular place Aussie Zoo would be good for your 12 month old. You can hire jogger prams there which you really need. Your bub can pat the kangaroos, and you can take him on the bouncing castle. We have a yearly pass and go there every month the kids love it. If you have a rainy day Maze Mania at Maroochydore or Kids Run Free at Nambour are great indoor activities. The best beach (i've found is the Spit at Mooloolaba. Very little waves and there are lifesavers on patrol.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Sunny! I don't know if we'll do Australia Zoo this time as we went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary on Australia Day! Might be animal overload for him.
I love Mooloolaba so I'll definately heading there! I'll check out Maze Mania too.
What about Underwater World at Mooloolaba if you can afford it is great
If you like markets there are plenty.
Relaxing around the pool you spoke about sounds great, with a picnic perhaps. My bub loves bobbing about in his floating ring with sunshade. :yelclap:
The beaches are great too, there are so many, most with little shops along the esplanade you can check out!
If you do want to do something, I am happy to get together with you on the Saturday for a couple of hours, just PM me with what you would like to do.

Underwater world definalty!!!
I have been meaning to take my 20mth old there. My sons love it! Check it out on the web, just google underwater world mooloolaba. They have interactive rock pools where the kids can touch and feel stuff also a great seal show that kids love! I would be happy to meet up, but can only do during the week as I have 2 older boys and weekends are to hectic for us with sports

I'm happy to meet up too! Either Friday or Saturday works for me. There are tonnes of great parks and activities up here for young kids.
Maze Mania is apparently awesome - I've been wanting to take DD there for a while now. They have a special area for under 3's. I heard on the grapevine that a new one has also just opened up in Buderim - sunnygirls, so you know anything about that one??
We recently went to Kids Run Free at Nambour, which was great, although the day we went, it was a bit warm!

Haven't heard about the Buderim one, will investigate though. Have some contacts at Kids on the Coast so will source some info and get back to you.

Oh, I love that Kids on the Coast mag!!
I asked the friend who originally told me about it today, and she said that she'd just heard it from a friend of a friend. She also said it may not have been a Maze Mania, although something similar.
Anything you can find out though would be great!! I'm always looking for new stuff to do with DD!

Hi everyone! Well I leave today, but does anyone want to meet up on Friday?
You guys know the Coast better than I do so I'm happy to meet at a place that's convenient for everyone.
Just post on here and I'll check tonight and early tomorow morning...
Thanks everyone for all your great ideas! I'll definately be going to the beach and swimming in the pool.
I'm taking some private surfing lessons while I'm up there too and I CAN'T WAIT!
Yay! A surfing holiday!

There are perverts everywhere and these are places that kids go all the time, so I doubt perverts will go on the net to search where kids are when they already know that they are going to be there, if that makes sense. Sometimes rules are just to silly:yes:
Anyway.......Just remember that I have to work tonight and cant get back on the net till tomorrow morning till about 8.30. So decide whats going to happen and PM me and I will look just before I leave for the morning
See U then guys

This rule is not silly. It's not there just to prevent perverts, and FYI, perverts do troll parenting boards. It's also there to protect members against cyber-stalkers and cyber-predators. The rule is to protect not only your children, but also you.

So did you guys end up going?
DH did get home OK (and on time for once!!) but Claire seems to be a bit sick at the moment. I managed to get her to the Dr today, but he didn't really know what was wrong with her. Apparently her symptoms are ambiguous! Some of them point to a certain viral infection & some of them completely contradict that! Yep - that'd be about right for Claire!

The Buderim one is Gymbaroo. I think Kids on the Coast has an ad for it.

Nah, not me in the pic. I don't do that stuff anymore (had a nasty landing and tore many discs in my back) - but if the opportunity arose I would do it again....... such a great feeling ..... ah - that and skiing my 2 great passions oh and my old Sydney law career are now sadly in the past - pesky injury and children arghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will all have to meet up.
Hey 3kidsmum, our kids go to the same school, I recognise Jackson from your pic. I will track you down next time I am around there. Hubbie seems to like taking the kids to school so he can chat up all the mums!
