Was at the beach all day today. I have fair skin that burns very easily. We applied suncreen every 2 hours or so. Seems I must have missed the back of my legs on the last application.
The entire back of my legs are so so red. It feels like a million needles peircing through my skin. It might be really serious. I cannot sit down with intense pain!
I currently have wet towels plastered to my legs! Can someone give me advice on what to do??

Lather Aloe Vera on after a soak in a cool tea bath:hugs:
hope you feel better soon
I would run lots of cold water over your legs, aloe vera sap or aloe vera gel is soothing for sunburn. If you think it is very serious you may need to get looked at by a doctor.
You poor thing, it is so easy to miss a spot with sunscreen.:hugs:

thanks ladies! im so annoyed, i was being so good with applying sunscreen often and everything.
i will try everything written, so much pain right now. my friend drew me a bath but wen i tried to get in it hurt too much, so il hafta wait til it gets cold, rather than luke warm.
i have got a pretty bad headache and feel a lil funny but i cant tell if its the sunburn or something else. ive got ice on now and my neighbour, who is a nurse is gonna come round to look.
thanks again!
i have fair skin too so i know what that is all about (oh the joys of being a natural red head) i always have a cold bath or shower and then apply some really good after sun or aloe vera cream/jell to help take some of the redness out of the skin.
Sleeping is probably going to be an issue as well so id be keeping the wet towels/compresses handy as your legs are probably going to hurt for a bit!!
Heres hoping they get better soon!

You could try Green tea lotion ( I think it's made by Le Tan) I'm allergic to aloe vera and this helps me when I'm sun burnt.

I think the only think you can do is cry :crying: in pain.
I had severly sunburnt legs (forgot to re apply to front of legs!) around one month ago and their was not much I could do, even called the Dr because Icwas so concerned as I could not even walk on my legs and had to get DH to help me up then to the toilet pain pain pain!!!
I put wet frozen towels on my legs (wet towels and put in the freezer for around 20 mins) and also used spray on aloa vera as it was just to painful for anyone to touch my legs... also soberlene helps take the dry feeling away. Also took panadol as the Dr recommended
this, not sure if it really helped though...
Drink plenty of water!!
Hope you feel better soon
sleep on your front on top of the covers tonight to avoid the rubbing of the sheets..ouch!

Oh no! I got really badly burnt about a week ago - it was horrible.
If you are in heaps and heaps of pain please go to the hospital! Let us know what the nurse says!
One thing I found that was excellent - it's BANANA BOAT brand - it's an Aloe Vera spray. It helps alot and also because it's a spray it doesn't hurt to apply. You should try and get some ASAP.

ensure to drink plenty of water
fresh aloe vera is the best to use, also after sun spray (aloe vera)
if you have a headache, take a couple of panadol close the lights or dim if possible,
cold compress (ie wet towels) on your legs also.

Don't be too hard on yourself - happens to the best of us!!
Also from the chemist is a great gel called SoloSite which is also great for suts or grazes and insect bites etc
In the 'now' - I know it sounds out there - but try peeling a potatoe and putting the peels onto the back of your legs for a little while - they work wonders for burns!
Of course water - ice - aloe vera etc etc!
Poor love you

what about alovera cream or after sun gel spray by le tan i hope it gets better
go to the drs.
when i was 15 i decided to ditch going to school on a hot day and went to the beach and got burnt
i left mine until it started blistering and peeling the pain was still there so i went to the drs.
i had 1st degree burns to my legs and had to have a special antiseptic cream applied til they healed.
but i still have the scars.
How are you doing today Woven_Wings?

Last night was hell! It has come out even more! I went to sleep with two ice packs under the back of my knees.
I have frozen some bandages and I have put those on now... ouchies but soothing.
My neighbour says its pretty bad but the doctor probably cant to much, except have a look and charge me $50 for saying the same things as you all have been saying.
I cant walk and sitting and standing is hell. Lying is the only position I get a little comfort. Because the most of the burn is on my upper leg and under my knee and when I bend my knee the skin moves or rubs together... not cool.
I tried the cold bath yesterday... my legs are still burning hot though.
Thanks everyone for your ongoing support! :hugs:
Hope you are feeling better soon Woven_Wings:hugs:

Dont want to worry you, but i had the same problem a year or so ago on both legs, they got so surnburnt that they swelled where extremely painful and the skin went super tight the next day,and i could barely walk. I went to the Dr's and he gave me some special cream, and said that i almost had 2nd degree burns. If your leg feels like mine did i'd be off to the Dr's cold water etc didnt do anything for me except cause more pain.
