I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem, why it is happening, what to do.
I'm just assuming its dehydration causing the dry skin but don't know about the rest.
My skin only on my face is so dry it looks like I've been out in the sun and it is peeling but I'm not sunburnt.
I find now and then my face flushes, very noticible turning red.
I've upped my fluid intake in case of dehydration and am using moisturiser but there's been minimal effect.

Hi

I also had very dry skin towards the end of my pregnancy and I also had hot flushes constantly, I think its just a hormonal thing. Just hope it doesn't get worse after you have bub cause mine did, but its 5weeks later and my skins fine and hot flushes are gone. I wouldnt worry about it to much.

My skin has been a lot drier since becoming pregnant. I use a cleanser with a scrub in it, and use that twice a day (dont try and scrub your whole face off because it will just irritate it), and then put on a really rich moisturiser straight afterwards. I have even taken to putting the body shop body butters on the driest parts of my face. They are so rich and work wonders.

If you can get hold of Origins products in Myer or DJ's, they do a fantastic rich moisturiser called "Urgent Moisture" but it wont make you break out.

They also do a cleanser called "Checks and Balances" which evens out your oily and dry patches.

Brilliant!

I was getting very angry, large pimples on my neck, chest and pack in the first twelve weeks. Ones that had no head and were very painful. I was cleansing and moisturising as normal so it must have been hormones. I've nver really had a problme with pimple before. They have since stopped and I am finding that I am getting a huge dry patch on my forhead, cheeks and chin. I had started to use a mixture of jojoba and vitamin E oil as a prevention for stretch marks on my tummy, boobs and thighs around 16 weeks and have now been using it on my face because of these dry patches and finding it works wonderfully. I am worried about using thick creams in case the pimples come back. The cleanser I use is called Cetaphil and is availalbe from pharmacies. It's a good hypo-allergenic cleanser for people with senstive / itchy skin.

Hello

Yeah I had pimples really bad during the first trimester with oily skin. Now that I am in the 2nd trimester I now have really dry facial skin with a few break outs here and there.

I think the best thing thing to do is just use a a really good cleanser and moisturiser and make sure you drink alot of water.

I found for the pimples ladies to cleanse your face with warm water with a few drops of tea tree or eucalyptus oil. Only do it once a day though as it too will dry your skin!!

I had the same problem only around the 12 week mark! My face was peeling off all over the place. My face is now a mix of some days really dry and others a little oily???

Nothing i did eg water intake, cleansing, moisturising etc helped!

Sorry about the lack of advice
