The last few days has been hell with DD2 (8.5months) which is totally out of the norm for her. Every time i leave the room that is in she screams. So i comfort her so she's back playing with toys and when i try to leave, yep screaming again! *pulls hair out* Nothing seems to be wrong with her.. fed, changed and all the other likes but this is just getting beyond a joke. I can't keep carrying her around on my hip or in the Hug-A-Bub because it's becoming too physically draining on me especially when i have 3 other children to tail gate :banghead:

Thing is, she is fine when DH is home. It's when it's me. Maybe something has scared her ? i don't know but this has gone on for days now and it's only if she's playing in the lounge room so it's not when she's in bed.

Has this happened to anyone else as this is the first for me and I'm not sure what I'm suppous to be doing other than comforting her. Or.. is that making it worse ? I can't just let her scream down the place.

Does anyone have any idea's on what i should/could do ?

Thanks!

TBH i don't think there is much you can do other than reassure her, at 8.5 months old it definately sounds like seperation anxiety and the only thing you can do is give her cuddles and say 'mummy will be back' when you leave the room. It won't hurt her to cry for a little while till you have finished what you are doing. You are her security right now and she is becoming more familiar with the world and people in it, so when you leave she doesn't feel that security as she doesn't understand you are coming back. It's really hard, DS still does this, but at least it's to the point now he is starting to realise i do come back. So it will pass i'm sure, but its definately not nice to hear them so upset.

Eliza does this all the time, it's loud painful cries too, I have started to tell her to stop it lol

I pick her up comfort her, tell her shes OK and to stop crying, and place her on the floor again. we're getting there S L O W L Y :D

Sorry, I'm no expert since my kid is only six months old, but I have been reading quite a few books lately about the next stage and what you are describing is completely normal and is just a stage.

So whilst it might be a bit of a pain in the you-know-what for a while, at least bubs is developmentally on track!! and that's gotta be good, right?
