Hi all
Very new to this site. I am 14 weeks tomorrow, and just this week had a scan and everything was fine. That was Tuesday. Since that afternoon I have had on and off sharp pain and cramping and a bit of back pain. I am probably just being paranoid but I had a chicken kebab that day for lunch - which I have been feeling guilty about ever since! I mentioned the pain to my midwife and she asked if I was constipated, which I kind of am, although have been the last 3 days, although very hard. The pain is usually on my lower left side, maybe even where my ovary is? Does anyone know this could maybe be, or if you think it is worth ringing seeing a doctor?? We have recently moved, so need to find a GP too...

Hey, I am going through a similar thing now, mind is mostly across my ribs. Could be ligament pain. However if it has been going on for a couple of days, it might be an idea to see a doctor, if I am still like this tomorrow I am going, even if its emergency. Hope you feel better soon.

I've also been getting that kind of pain around both ovaries, like just above the hip bone IYKWIM. I had this during my pgcy with DD and now have it again. My Ob told me that its my ligaments hurting because of the streching. I usually get it for a couple of days then it goes away for a while then comes back again. I also have lots of cramping when TMI are about to go toilet or if I havn't been. Try not too worry too much but if it keeps on get it checked out!

JKat - hope you are feeling better, did you go to the doctor?

cmd'smum - it is a relief to hear someone else explaining what I am feeling! I do think the cramping is due to the constipation. I take metamucil every day, but it just doesn't seem to work very well. My midwife recommended a stool softner to use as well, but haven't been able to find one that you can take while pregnant. My ovary pains have pretty much stopped, so I haven't been as concerned lately..until next time!!

At least we know we are all worrying together :o  I'll keep worrying till I hold this baby in my arms!

Hope you get no more pains and that the constipation leaves you soon! You could always try eating lots of prunes? :D

good luck babe!

Figirl,I've found the best thing for constipation is eating canned pears. (pear halves). Safe and yummy! Hope you are feeling better.
