Help! Around 3 months ago my DS (now 18 months), discovered that with a bit of effort he could get his hand down his nappy and check things out, as it were. ;) I didn't get too upset, since this is natural, and I figured he would grow out of it.
Unfortunately, he hasn't. Instead it has become his thing to do when he is bored. This includes when he is falling asleep for his nap and bedtime. As a result of things pointing in the wrong direction, his next wee goes pretty much everywhere except in the nappy. This has escalated from 1-2 times a month to 3-4 times a week, and sometimes twice in a single night. I am exhausted! (On the other hand, I can now change & wash him and change and wipe the cot in record time and half light.)
I have tried: Body suits - he reaches in through the leg holes; grobag - he pulls his hands in through the arm holes and then finds his way through his clothes; body suit plus pants/shorts - he pulls off the pants/shorts and proceeds as usual; and onesies - he reaches in between the snaps, I think. :(
I tell him no if I catch him in the act. The odd bit is when his nappy is off, he isn't interested in checking things out. Anyone out there with any tips or ideas?!? I really need a good nights sleep, and so does DS.
