Hi Guys

This is my first time to this site - it's nice to know that my hubby and I aren't the only ones going through this!

We have been trying for a baby for nearly 3 years and have finally set a date for our first ICSI cycle - but March 06 is the earliest we could get in!! So it's another long wait.

I thought that I would've been excited about getting something done - but to be honest, the whole thing is freaking me out a little... it's so frustrating to not just have it happen when you're ready for it to happen. And everything seems to be such a long wait between appointments, tests etc.

Anyway, I wish you all the best in achieving your dreams!!

Hi Fechunani, welcome to bub hub.

All the very best for the appointment next year. Who knows, now that you have it you may fall pg naturally!
It is a little freaky to go through IVF (at least I thought so at first) but many, many women do it, and what's the point of having all these great medical achievements if we don't use them? :)

All the very best.. enjoy this Christmas (which may be your last before you become a mum) and try not to count the days (*very* hard I know)

What state are you in...meaning what part of Oz that is!!!
I can recommend a clinic that might be able to see you sooner....see how you go. I dont think I'd be happy to wait so long. Time is the essence in this little rollercoaster ride.
My son was an ICSI.........BTW.

I agree you never know you might actually fall preg naturally before then!
My friend has been trying for years and tried ivf etc and has just fallen preg with out it!

I wish that we could fall preggers naturally, but the dr said that from our tests we only have about 3% chance of falling pregnant naturally - so it would be a complete miracle if it happened between now and then.

We live in SA and apparently March is the earliest time we can get in because they are booked up!! There must be a lot of people out there needing help!!

However, at first I was really upset about having to wait for so long - but the more that I think about it, it just gives my hubby and I a chance to spend more time together and to relax for a little before we start everything. It has been so stressful (and then even more so when you're younger sister falls pregnant the 1st month that she tries!!!) - so I am just looking forward to relaxing for a little while. :cool:

Kevinbudgie, that is so good that you had your son on ICSI - I don't know of anyone that has had ICSI before and it's good to hear success stories!! It puts a bit of hope into it all. Thank you!! :)

Fech: Ignore them and their stupid stats......Mine I think was 12%......what a crock!! Stats, stats, stats....
Can you shop around and find another clinic that doesn't make you wait so long/?
What about the IVF website.....ACCESS....I think it's called?? Maybe if you had a look on that and then you might be able to find another clinic where you can start as soon as you like??
Its up to yo....but if your determined to want to begin sooner....don't let bureaucracy dictate when they can squeeze you in.
