is it normal to have heart beating fast??

Is this normal to have a heart beating fast?? I am 38weeks today and about an hour ago I got the sweats, shakes, and horrible feeling in my tummy felt like I wanted to throw up! and now I have this weird sensation in my tummy almost like something stuck in my upper tummy and I am trying to breathe (I can breath no problems its not bad bad) just when I breathe to be calm it feels very strange and also a bit heavy breathing..

Is this normal???

It is normal to have an elevated heart rate in pregnancy.

Measure your heart rate (in your wrist -not with thumb- or on your neck), If it is over say.... 120 -130 - check again in 5. If it hasnt settled go straight to your dr.

i never had this when i ws pregnant but if i did i would go to the doctors just to be sure

I had heart problems that were made worse with pregnancy. My condiont (SVT_) is qwuite common to ahve just in pregnancy. But if your heart rate sits too high for too long (SVT is over 130) than it can starve bub of oxygen.

I would get all what you said before my heart went nuts (before the shakes, i would feel twitchy and face itchs...)

You should call a middy to be sure anyway.

u mean I measure 120-130 per minute??? or??? sorry am a ditz!!! :laughing:

count the beats for 15sec, times that by 4 to get your beats per minute, if that is over 130, and has been for awhile, call middys and see what they want you to do. When mine was over that i would always have to go straight to hospital

It is still beating fast trying to count them but too fast to count!!!

It is roughly 20 beats per 15 seconds so thats about 120beats is that right????

will retry it in 5 minutes or so

ok now just tried it again it has gone up about 33beats per 15 seconds

so that would make it.. 132beats?

should I ring hospital in case??? or do another one in about 10 minutes??

OK just got off the phone from hospital they wanna check me out to make sure baby is ok etc

hopefully its just me dehyrated or anything less serious!

:hugs: Hunny I hope everything is okay, I had a few times like this during my pregnancy as well, expecially on really hot days.. It's good that they are going to check you just to make sure all is okay, let us know okay hun.:hugs:

Am waiting for DP to come home and we're off to hospital I am just thinking positive thoughts at the moment I have a headache but not thinking about it... also I am drinking Mizone to boost me up hopefully that'll help!!!

Got an update from last week (sorry its late!)... Went to hospital wednesday evening and found out the baby's head is very engaged and is ready to come out whenever it decides! so its now basically a waiting game it could happen anytime now...

they said its quite normal to have heart beating fast they did check me on the monitor to make sure its not TOO fast and it was just above average for any pregnant woman so its all ok now..

Today I have this weird overwhelming feeling I can't shake it off just very bizarre feeling at the moment!! maybe its today/tonight it'll happen?!?!? :rolleyes:
