Yeah i agree with MD.
Trying to keep your meow in as much as possible is the best thing as well as safest in regards to it being hit by a car etc.
You can set up a cat enclosure or run if you have the room this way you dont have to leave him inside all the time if your unsure about this.
With mine they have always taken about two weeks to get used to the new house. Its rather freaky for them especially as mine never like car trips, so that in itself stresses them.
I usually take them into a small area where they can be safe etc then slowly get them used to the rest of the house letting them smell & explore. Dont force him to do anything he isnt comfy with & he will get used to it all.
Wont be long & he will know its home !
Congrats having him back :D

Hi,
really depends on the cat, a cat run would be great but not everyone can afford one, at least 2 weeks is the general recommendation. So glad you have your pets back
Kelly:)
I have cats and have moved ALOT. The best idea is for the fist few days keep the cat in a room ie the bathroom or something with its litter food etc and something that smells familar to it, like a blanket. Good luck

My friend moved from Perth to Canada and when he first got there he put her on a long leash and took her out for 10 mins at a time to get used to her surrounds (can't imagine what the neighbours would have thought   )(his cat Abby was an part-time indoor cat part-time outdoor cat here in Perth) after about 2 weeks he took her off the lead and she didn't wander off
