Hi Guys
I know there has probably been a million threads on this but I can't seem to find them.
My DS is 10 weeks old and I've just gotten AF back. I'm at the end of day 4 and it's still so heavy that I am using maternity pads and they are soaked within 2 hours. completely soaked.
before DS my AF only ever went for 3 days and I have never had it this heavy and I'm starting to get a bit worried  It's draining all my energy and I am so exhausted (DS still doesn't even look sleepy and I want to go to bed so badly).
I had a c/s and my uterus was cleaned out so I only bled for a few days after his birth and it was very light.
Is this just one of the many joys my body has experienced since getting pregnant? Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Doesn't sound to good, maybe its worth a trip to your Dr just to make sure everything is all okay. Better to be sure I say.:hugs:

I'd say it's just this way for your first time since giving birth, but it does sound pretty bad. You probably should make sure with a doc, especially if it persist much longer

Hi there
My first af after DD's birth was very heavy and lasted for 3 weeks :(
I saw my gp about it and she explained that it's fairly common for a first post-partum af to be pretty extreme as your uterus is still enlarged.
I also had a c/s but didn't get "cleaned out", and my post-partum bleeding lasted 6 weeks.

Even now 7 months later my af is alot heavier than it used to be, and i'm now in my 9th day of my af (used to only last 3-4days and very light).

If you're worried, definitely see your gp, but rest assured that what you're explaining isn't too out of the ordinary.

Good luck.

I had a c/s too but my bleeding lasted for 5 weeks. My AF's have changed since having ds (i've had 3 since he was born). Before having him I never once suffered from any cramping at all but I have suffered cramping with each once since and the flow has been conciderable heavier. But any bleeding that you are worried about should be checked out by your doctor just in case.
