Not eating

Hi Ladies,

In the last week or so I have been having some problems with my DS. He is 16 weeks old today and wieghs 6.5kgs. He is a big boy and has eaten well since he was born.

He is bottle fed and would normally have 950ml per day. Lately he has been having less than 600ml.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? He has no fever and is alert and hapy. The Dr says nothing is wrong. Is this a stage??

Please help, I am a bit anxious about it! :o

Hi Simone,

My DS was about the same size as yours at the same time. He was putting on heaps of weight although I never understood how as he dropped his feeds and at 5 months, when I converted to the bottle, he was drinking way less than any other bub (or so I thought).

I started him on solids around the 4 months mark, just a bit of pureed fruit here and there - he loved it and it made me feel a bit more secure that he was getting some extra nutrients as well as his milk. I would always offer his milk first at that age though.

Bubs seem to regulate their intake quite a bit. He'll probably be the opposite next week ! :D

I had the same problem when DS was teething.
