I would suggest Baby Love by Robin Barker.

I really liked "What to expect in the first year". You can get it at most bookshops

Hi Shinebrite,

Do you have a library near by? I bought the Baby Love book by Robin Barker and have got the rest from the library. I've read Kidwrangling (Kaz Cooke), What to expect in the first year and others. They are all good general care books, but don't go into a great deal about the food.

Solids are my new obsession too, so I just got out Baby and toddler meal planner (annabel karmel), breast bottle bowl (penelope stone) and super foods for children (michael van straten) which have all been very helpful.

Your best bet is to talk to your maternal health nurse as it depends on your bubba. My baby is a big budha and she was showing signs of readiness for solids at 4 months. She was so big and didn't like huge feeds (240ml recommended on the tin), so it worked better for me to introduce solids and keep milk to 180ml. She is now coming up to 7 months and is on 3 meals a day, including meat at night and snacks (toast, rusk sticks, vegie sticks etc), so she only has about 600 - 700ml of formula per day. This is less than the tin suggests, but she's ahead on the food so it works for me.

Sorry to waffle, hope it helps!
