Hi All,

I'm expecting new bub in a few weeks and have converted to MCN for this one (yay!).

On investigation, I think I would like to use either BabyBeeHinds or GreenKids.

Which one would you prefer & why? Being new to this I'm hoping I won't get my choice wrong, so I'm counting on you guys to help me out before I go & spend $$$!

Many thanks :)

well, i didnt vote as they are different.

greenkids are pockets(dont need a cover) you just stuff them.

babybeehinds are fitteds(need a cover)

I use greenkids alot, and I like them, I just got a bamboo babybeehinds to use with my wool soaker so I will try it out when its dry. I do like the feel of them though, and the adjustability.

also, the velcro(applix-whatever:D) is slightly annoying on the greenkids, as its easier for little ones to rip off.

GK's didnt work on my little bub, maybe save them for when bubs bigger? BBH are my fave:thumbsup:

I use greenkids so I voted for them, but its not really accurate because I have never tried baby beehinds so I can't compare it.

I voted Gk's. But thats all I own!! :p Its neck & neck at the moment!!

I prefer BBH to greenkids for the size factor. GKs don't fit my big butted 2 year old, but BBH and BBB do. BBs fit my 8 month old perfectly too

but as emevity said they work differently. I love my pockets, and have mostly pockets, but I only have 2 GKS though, but I also love my BBBs for nights with a wool soaker.

So out of those two brands I prefer the Baby Beehinds, but of those two types of nappies, I prefer pockets.

Does that make sense or have I just confused you?

I voted for BB's but I'm biased in that that's all my stash is. I would love to try some Green Kids though at some stage. Actually there's alot of MCN I'd like to try!

To tell the truth I don't think you could go wrong with either. Both have trial pks which would be a great start for you. The majority (I'd say at least 98%) of BH reviews of each have been extremely positive.

My personal inclination is to get both fitted nappies and some pocket nappies, so I can't vote for one or the other, because as others have indicated, there are advantages to each. I perfer fitted nappies + covers for their flexibility and great all-rounded-ness, but travelling and visiting can be made a bit easier with a good pocket nappy.

Couldn't you have made it multiple choice :p

I can't decide either, so i can't vote sorry.

They are both wonderful nappies but many MCN users use both.

I couldn't vote.
ie- I LOVE my bamboo BB's for night.
But I love using pocket nappies (such a GKs) during the day

I'd get a trial pack of each. These packs include all you need to start out and are a real $ saver. Both BB's and GK's have lay-by, too.

The fun with MCN is building a stash with nappies of many different varieties. I have one or two of one kind, one or two of another... for all my nappies. It makes it so much fun! Remember that fabulous resale value- these things are in such high demand that you don't have to stress about not liking a nappy- it will be sold in no time at all:yes:

Thanks for the replys guys

I have decided to purchase the trial pack of both brands. Have been trying to search bubhub for the reviews of both nappies, but am unable to find. Can anyone point me in the right direction???

Have organised a BBH rep to come and show me how they work, etc. Does anyone know if GK does the same? Or does anyone in Bris West suburbs have any that I can come & look at !!! A big ask I know, but I have never even SEEN a MCN!! And I don't know anyone with baby's that use them either.

Thanks again

I picked Greens, due to my DD2 being a skinny bub and the she got wing droop all the time. The nappy was nearly falling off. They were great for everything else.

I voted for GK's - i love them for when out and about. Have never had a leak once in them. Although, i'm probably not a fair voter, because i only have 1 BBH hemp and apparently it's nowhere near as good as the bamboo! That one is next on my wish list:yes:

I prefer pockets, but only because a fitted + cover means more time struggling to hold down a wriggly bub. I can put a pocket on whilst he's standing now.

Once again, thanks for the feedback guys.

Just another question to those of you who use GK's - how long do they last? I have been informed that they would only last 6 mths with regular use. This is a little concerning to me. I hope this isn't the case and someone can tell me otherwise.

Ta in advance :)

im sure they last longer than 6 months...PUL lasts around 150 washes sometimes more, sometimes less...Thats why its good to have a large rotation

PUL won't last as long as fleece or hemp or bamboo.
But wool probably wouldn't last as long as some other things too. So you will have to get new covers anyway, especially for size reasons.

So you can think of it like this. Your PUL pockets might wear out before your fitted nappies, put you will probably have to get new covers for your fitteds anyway. Then again you don't need as many covers as you have nappies.

I use both - the fitted are great for overnight or long sleeps but the GK are easy to put on - so DH can cope with them. He doesn't like putting a BB on and then a cover - too fiddly for him - but the straightforward GK aplix suits him just fine. I find that the BB keep baby dry longer and are a better fit (he is only 9 weeks old). So maybe a selection of both as they suits different occasions!

Out of those two nappie's I've only used GK and IMO they do not wear as well as other pocket nappies. I have been using the same nappies since DD was 6 weeks old and she's now 14 months (tomorrow) and they look brand new still. My GK's I've only had for 3 or 4 months and only use them of a night time and they look old already. I wash them according to the instructions but the PUL must be cheaper than my other nappies (even though they were a more expensive nappy) and even though we do the velcro tabs up for the wash they come undone and stick to the nappy. I would have liked to have sold them cause I'm not really a fan of GK (they are fine for leakage's but they don't do much for me looks wise) but it wouldn't be worth it.
I think I'm the only bubhub member that isn't in love with GK's though!

Not quite- bamboo is more absorbant then hemp, and because of this, it takes longer to dry. Less absorbancy= faster drying.

I'm a BBH's fan. I tried GK's but they didn't work for us, so I told them. I find the BBH's bamboo are far more absorbant. During the day my toddler doesn't require a cover over the bamboo's, my newborn does though.

BBB are great! We use them for nights (as we dont have enough of them) with a knitted wool soaker. We are not so keen on the hemp ones. I dont have GK's, but I do have a lot of other pockets and the PUL only lasts around 150 washes apparently, which is why I am now buying fitteds or fleece aio's. I want them to last the distance as we are having 2 more kiddlets after this one! (I didnt know about the PUL lifespan before I stocked up...) My wooly soakers are lasting REALLY well, and 2 of them are second hand so have already had a v useful life! They will def last the distance with my DD & look like they will do for the next bub too. I have not tried the BBH Wool covers, I have heard they dont last real well so I am sticking with soakers (they are way cuter imo anyway!) Goodluck with your cloth!

Wow minime you were right! I do use fuzzibunz!
I know that people on here don't like them and they fact they are sized puts people off. DD is still in her smalls...has been from 6 weeks and is now 14 months. She still has plenty of room. She is small though but there is a site who will buy back your fuzzibunz (providing they aren't stained and not damaged) to help out with the cost.
There is a bubhubber that is a distrubutor for this company so if you are interested pm me and I'll get her info for you!

Ummm..with my new love of Baby Beehinds, I ordered 3 bamboo and was very excited and pleased with the service from A New Blessing but....I thought they were Aussie Made! I was a little disappointed to see they are Made in China
