Hello Amy,
Sounds like you are not getting very much sleep with cosleeping anyway. If you don't want your bub to be a codependant sleeper when he is older you really need to start now. My little girl is 8mths old now & as tempted as I have been at times I have never taken her into my bed. Emma goes down at 7:30 at night at about 10-10:30 before I go to bed I give her a "dream feed", I get her out of bed still asleep, sit down, attach her to the breast & she feeds while she is more or less still asleep, then I put her back in her cot. Most nights she doesn't wake until around 5am when I give her a feed and then straight back to bed, then she wakes at 7am for breakfast. The 'dream feed' helps her get through the night.
But, if you like sleeping with your little one then that's okay too, everyone is different....good luck.
Christine
I am also trying to get my DS out of my bed and the gentle approach is working really well.
He now sleeps in a cot in our bedroom and we will slowly move him into his room. He now sleeps in his room for day sleeps but at night he is in ours.
How old is your little guy?
