View Full Version : cosleep issue
i put my little one down at about 7pm at night,he isnt the best sleeper sometimes he wakes at 10pm other nights it may be 11 on a great nite it's two after he has woken up i take him to my bed and feed him we usually both fall asleep then if i wake up before him i put him back in his bed after that he will wake up every hour or two ,i think he wakes up coz he wants to come and sleep with me ,i love cosleeping it's great to get some sleep but i really want him to stay in his bed so i can get a better nights sleep im scared he will be doing this for years to come
Sounds like you are not getting very much sleep with cosleeping anyway. If you don't want your bub to be a codependant sleeper when he is older you really need to start now. My little girl is 8mths old now & as tempted as I have been at times I have never taken her into my bed. Emma goes down at 7:30 at night at about 10-10:30 before I go to bed I give her a "dream feed", I get her out of bed still asleep, sit down, attach her to the breast & she feeds while she is more or less still asleep, then I put her back in her cot. Most nights she doesn't wake until around 5am when I give her a feed and then straight back to bed, then she wakes at 7am for breakfast. The 'dream feed' helps her get through the night.
But, if you like sleeping with your little one then that's okay too, everyone is different....good luck.
I am also trying to get my DS out of my bed and the gentle approach is working really well.
He now sleeps in a cot in our bedroom and we will slowly move him into his room. He now sleeps in his room for day sleeps but at night he is in ours.
How old is your little guy?
thanks guys,i think i do it because im so tired and dont mean to fall asleep but do i will try to put him back in his cot straight after a feed my little man is 4 1\2 months old
