My husband's ship is going through Hobart in early March and I am looking at booking a weekend for us to share together... It will be our last child-free holiday; so I want it to be romantic! We are however still on a budget, so something still within-reason.

I dont mind going for either a hotel/resort or a bed & breakfast; but if its a B&B I'd prefer to be recommended something rather than just find something from the net (have had some bad experiences lol)

Any suggestions? We will do a couple of day trips from Hobart, but would like to stay in the same place all 3 or 4 nights...

This link might help i cant really say what is the best as i have never stayed in hobart as we only live 40 mins from hobart so have had no need to stay there but if you let me know what place you might be interested in i can see if i can find anything about it for you.

Hope that helps!!!

We stayed at Sommerset on the Pier and Sommerset on Salamanca, it was really nice and right on the wharf so close to great restuarants and shopping

Hi Pink Lady some friends of my family own "The Waverley Cottage Collection" in Tasmania. It's bed and breakfast accommodation. I think it has everything you and your DH may need for your stay in Tassie.

We stayed in the city at a place called Zero Davey. It was *lovely*, all modern and sleek. The apartments are self contained with a kitchen and even a little laundry. It wasn't too bad in terms of prices (can't remember exactly how much it was) but we only had a studio apartment.

It's right next to the harbour, too ... and a great fish and chip place :D The market was only a stone's throw away as well.

Hi there,

I've stayed in the newer section of The old woolstore and it's just gorgeous! The spa apartment has a mini kitchen, dining area, nice lounges and a huge corner spa bath OUTSIDE the bathroom area!

Also try, Somerset on Salamanca, Salamanca Terraces, The Lenna (DH's just looked throught them for work recently)

We always check this site out for some good deals.
Check out www.wotif.com.au and select Hobart to see any good deals or to see what's available.

Just a heads up - depending on your dates I'd advise to book something as early as you can as from the 15th - 25th the ATO has a sports carnival on and there's about 700 people arriving who've already booked out a lot of the accommodation so if you find something - book it!
(P.S. DH also says that March is conference season as well as cruise ship season so :fingerscrossed: you get some nice accommodation!)

Good luck and enjoy our beautiful city!
