Counting

I'm just wondering at what age do children start counting to 10?

My DD turns 2 next week. She has known her numbers to 10 for a few months, that is, recognises the symbol. When counting she mostly knows the order but tends to skip "1" and sometimes jumps around a bit or misses one out. So she hasn't quite mastered it yet :)

There's so much variation with toddlers' development.

My son could confidently count to ten just after turning 2 and at 2½ can now count to 20 and add small numbers together. I think this is fairly average.
