I need help urgently! I went to babysit my sisters kids today, only to find out later that her dog has fleas! (When I say later, I mean after my feet and lower legs have been severly 'attacked')
I am in agony here...the itching is driving me INSANE! I know I shouldn't scratch them...but they are so itchy.
I have tryed isocal and another brandname cream for itching, but their not helping.

OK, I'm feeling so sorry for myself, I just counted...I have 17 on my right foot and 13 on my left. What will stop the itching??

Just thought...what are the chances that I have brought some home with me?? On my clothes, etc...I am so paranoid now.

I'm totally feeling for you - we've just dealt with a flea issue, which had my ankles and feet looking like I had some tropical pox disease...

Try as much as you can not to scratch them (I know its hard!!) - but if you can't help it, try and rub them hard, rather than scratch them just in case they scar. Wash your feet in very cold water - good thing its summer, and then put some bland moisteriser on and keep the moisturising up, and try and keep your feet as cool as possible. I found that the hotter my feet got, the more they itched. I got a pure vitamin e oil in a roll on bottle and put that on, its really greasy but it helps reduce scarring and relieves the itching I found.

Yeah hate to say this but you may well have taken one or two home - they're absolute buggers those things! Just keep an eye out for the next few days and see if you get any fresh bites.

Here's hoping you didn't bring any home with you! :fingerscrossed:

im feeling for you so much right now! i have two dogs and a cat (two kids and one on the way-3 weeks to go wooohoo) now when my cat goes out mainly in summer although with a flea collar on he brings home the dreaded flea's it is a nightmare come true, as flea's burry their eggs in the carpet, your bedding any furniture and can lay dormant for upto 6mths and when warm they hatch and woohoo it all begins again.
my son has an alergy to any insect bites but prone to flea bites when he gets bitten by one in one spot he can get what is called phantom bites from say 5-12 phantom bites in the surrounded affected area..and as bad as it is wont stop scratching making them turn into the most nasty boil type of spots, the only thing that has helped him to stop scratching them is an antihystamine (cant spell-just sound it out :) ) and this has worked wonders for him.
if you have no pets at all in your home then the best thing to do to ensure you get rid of the nasty blighters is to buy a flea fogger for each room turn them on and vacate your home for two hours, after then come back and open windows and hoover and you will be fine as the foggers kill all eggs and any flea's that come into contact with any soft furniture for 12mths.

hope this helps some
